Accidents reported

Michel G. Menges, 34, Ellinwood, was westbound on U.S.-56 near Falcon Road in a 2003 Ford F-250 pickup at 6:50 a.m. Sept. 30, when a deer entered the roadway and was struck. Marion County Sheriff Deputy Matt Vogt reported there were no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages.

Susan Joy Dalke, 32, 220 N. Ash Street, Hillsboro, was backing from a private drive at her residence in a 2001 Saturn passenger car at 7:25 a.m. Oct. 1, and struck Ruby A. Hefley, 85, 205 S. Birch Street, Hillsboro, who was walking in the street behind the private drive. Alex Dalke, 9, and Faith Dalke, 5, of the same address, were passengers. Hillsboro Assistant Police Chief Jessey Hiebert reported the pedestrian was injured but the report did not indicate if she was transported to a hospital.

Jerry D. Myers, 68, 211 S. Prospect, Lehigh, was backing northwest in a parking lot in the 300 block of North Ash Street, Hillsboro, in a 1996 Chevrolet Silverado pickup at 10:55 a.m. Oct. 4, and collided with a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro driven by Melissa A. Wood, 44, 1910 275, Marion, who was driving southwest into the parking lot. There were no injuries, Hillsboro Police Officer Chad Richards reported, and less than $1,000 in damages.

Constance J. Nance, 60, Maize, was eastbound on 210th Road near Kanza in a 2005 Ford Focus at 5:30 a.m. Oct. 6, when a deer came from a south ditch and was struck. Marion County Sheriff Deputy Duane McCarty reported there were no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages.

Theodore J. Sims, 24, Grapevine, Texas, was northbound on K-15 near 300th Road in a 2005 Chevrolet Impala at 6:35 a.m. Oct. 6, when a deer came from an east ditch and was struck. The vehicle was registered to Lease Plan USA of Alpharetta, Ga. There were no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages, reported Deputy McCarty.

David A. Herbel, 52, 2048 Nighthawk, Marion, was westbound on 100th Road near K-15 in a 1991 Honda Civic at 8:45 p.m. Oct. 11, when he lost control of the vehicle on the sand road. The vehicle rolled over on its top. Deputy McCarty reported there were no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages.
