Accidents reported

The following accidents were reported to Marion County law enforcement agencies:

Christopher T. Robert, 33, Emporia, was westbound on U.S.-56 near milemarker 304 in a 2002 Dodge van at 5:10 p.m. Nov. 22 when a deer came from a south ditch and was struck. Passengers in the van were Tiffany Robert, 32, Trenton Robert, 9, Toria Robert, 4, and Tanner Robert, 6, all of the same address. There were no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages, reported Marion County Sheriff Deputy Larry Starkey.

Phillip G. Garman, 45, Independence, Mo., was westbound on U.S.-50 near Upland Road in a 2006 Volvo at 8:15 p.m. Nov. 25 when a deer was struck by another vehicle going the opposite direction. The deer was spun into the path of the Garman vehicle and was struck. The owner of the Volvo was CPP Transportation of Kansas City. Marion County Sheriff Deputy Josh Whitwell reported there were no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages.

Dale E. Armstrong, 39, Leon, was turning into a parking stall in the alley on Main Street in Lincolnville in a 2007 Ford F-250 van at 10:25 a.m. Nov. 27 when he struck a gas meter. The van was registered to Gelco Corporation of Wichita. The accident was investigated by Marion County Undersheriff Randal Brazil.

Kirby R. Fadenrecht, 50, 104 N. Wilson, Hillsboro, was southbound on Indigo near 80th Road in a 1994 Dodge Intrepid at 5:40 p.m. Nov. 28 when a deer came from an east ditch and was struck. Deputy Starkey reported there were no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages.

Matthew H. Hogan, 39, Hutchinson, was eastbound on U.S.-56 near Pawnee Road in a 2001 Dodge Dakota pickup at 11 p.m. Dec. 2 when a deer came from a south ditch and was struck. Heather Hogan, 29, and Abby Brown, 7, of the same address, were passengers. Deputy Larry Starkey reported there were no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages.

Jacob D. Lenz, 20, 591 Needle Road, Peabody, was backing from a driveway on Needle Road near 59th in a 1995 Chevrolet Z71 pickup at 3:34 p.m. Dec. 3 when it struck another vehicle that was traveling south on Needle. Hector R. Mosqueda Jr., 52, 586 Needle Road, Peabody, was driving a 2001 Ford Escort and tried to avoid the collision. The car was registered to Lisa Slater, no age listed, of the same address. No one was injured and there was more than $1,000 in damages, reported Marion County Sheriff Deputy Duane McCarty.

Brian P. Tappan, 31, Newton, was westbound on U.S.-50 near Clover Road in a 2002 Dodge Stratus at 6:55 p.m. Dec. 3 when a deer came from a south ditch and was struck. Stacey Tappan, 43, of the same address, was a passenger. Deputy Starkey reported there were no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages.
