Accidents reported

The following accidents were reported to Marion County law enforcement agencies:

William F. Stevens, 16, 107 W. Sixth, Peabody, was northbound on Newell, south of 60th Road, in a 1999 Mercury Sable passenger car at 5:10 p.m. Aug. 15, when a dog came from a west ditch. The driver swerved to avoid the dog and struck a mailbox and tree. Andrew S. Odle, 17, Newton, was a passenger in the vehicle. Marion County Sheriff Deputy Josh Whitwell reported there were no injuries and less than a $1,000 in damages to the car and mailbox.

Casynda L. Redling, 24, 1423 Chisholm Trail, Hillsboro, was southbound on Chisholm Trail in a 1991 Jeep Wrangler at 9 p.m. Aug 17, when a right, rear tire blew out as she was attempting to make a right turn on 130th. The blow-out caused the vehicle to turn on its side. John Redling, 27, of the same address, was a passenger. The vehicle was registered to Peter Jantz of Hesston. No one was injured, reported Deputy Whitwell, and there was no dollar amount of damages listed.

Amy Jo Bayes, 33, 323 Remington, Peabody, was traveling west on 30th in a 2005 Jeep at 8:30 p.m. Aug. 18, when a deer came from a ditch and was struck by the vehicle. Sage Bayes, 10, and Isaac Bayes, 2, of the same Peabody address, were passengers in the vehicle. Marion County Sheriff Deputy Jim Philpott reported there were no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages.

Tracy L. Rosebraugh, 32, El Dorado, was turning south from a field entrance on Turkey Creek just south of U.S.-50 in a 2006 Kenworth tractor-trailer at 1:30 p.m. Aug. 22, when the rear wheels of the trailer went off the road and into a ditch, causing the trailer to overturn which caused crude oil to spill. The truck was registered to Sem Crude of Oklahoma City, Okla. No one was injured, reported undersheriff Randal Brazil, and there was more than $1,000 in damages.
