Airplane pilot receives assistance from HPD

Hillsboro Police Department assisted an airplane pilot Dec. 26 at Hillsboro Airport who was forced to make an emergency landing.

Dec. 25: A gas leak was reported in the 300 block of North Ash Street and in the city's industrial park.

Monday: A dog complaint in the 800 block of West Grand Street was filed. Suspicious activity was checked in the 400 block of North Adams Street. Sheriff's deputies received assistance with an injury accident.

Tuesday: A disturbance occurred in the 300 block of North Birch Street. A juvenile was taken into custody for battery and transported to juvenile intake at Junction City. A motorist was assisted when keys were locked in a vehicle. An arrest warrant was served. A civil process for the city was served.

Wednesday: A Herington resident reported one of his personal checks was altered after it was used as payment at a local business; a suspect was identified; the case remains under investigation; loss was valued at $10. A local church reported the theft of a Christmas ornament from its nativity scene. A burglary was reported in the 100 block of North Birch Street; nothing was taken but items had been moved on the property. Ampride reported a gas skip for $16; a vehicle description was obtained and the case remains under investigation. A suspicious vehicle was checked in Hillsboro Heights.

Thursday: A complaint was filed in the 100 block of South Floral Street regarding a protection from abuse order. SRS received assistance with an investigation. A littering complaint was made in the 200 block of North Washington Street.

Friday: Assistance was given to SRS with an investigation. A civil process for the city was served.
