Alice Schneider
Alice Faye Schneider, 91, of Herington, died March 13, 2007.
Born Feb. 15, 1916, near Elmo, she was the daughter of Henry and Clara (Moot) Bliss.
On May 12, 1935, she married Alex Schneider on his parents' farm near Ramona. He died in 1986.
She was a homemaker, living most of her life in Lincolnville before moving to a care facility in Herington four years ago. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Lincolnville.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two sons, Norman Schneider and Allen Schneider; four brothers, Lavern, Kenneth, Melvin, and Arnold Bliss; and two sisters, HenrEtta Shinn and Dorothy Laughery.
Survivors include four sons, Darrel Schneider of Gravette, Ark., Galen Schneider, Lonnie Schneider, and Gary Schneider, all of Herington; two daughters, Betty Klein of Lincolnville and Karen Wendlandt of Herington; three brothers, Maurice, Alvin, and Jimmy Bliss, all of Haysville; four sisters, Ruth Pschigoda of Hillsboro, Helen Sader of Herington, Luella Tong of Augusta, and Sharon Brunner of California; 23 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at St. John Lutheran Church, Lincolnville, with the Rev. Alan Stahlecker officiating.
Burial was in Lewis Cemetery, Ramona.
A memorial fund has been established with the church.
