Almatha Woodall

Almatha W. Woodall, 80, of Topeka, died Oct. 25, 2004.

Born Oct. 23, 1924, in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of Henry P. and Clara Margaret (Nelson) Jensen.

On April 10, 1949, she married Leonard Woodall in Topeka. He died in 1988.

She worked at a Hallmark Cards shop before starting her family. She spent many hours as a volunteer for the Indian Creek 4-H Club and Indian Creek Grange. She was a member of Second Presbyterian Church, Indian Creek Grange, Auxiliary to Topeka Post #400 of American Legion, and a leader for Indian Creek 4-H Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband and a brother, E. Don Jensen.

Survivors include two daughters, Alana Atkins and Diana Bates and husband Michael of Topeka; a sister, Carrie Michaelson of Topeka; four brothers, Marvin Jensen of Lincoln, E. Lew Jensen of Sylvan, Cleo Jensen of Hunter, and Jerry Jensen of Marion; five grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Friday morning at Penwell Gabel Funeral Home, Parker-Price Chapel.

Burial was in Rochester Cemetery, Topeka.

Memorial funds have been established with Second Presbyterian Church and Sunrise Optimist Endowment Association.
