Angela Tajchman

Angela Camilla Tajchman, 88, died Oct. 11, 2004, at St. Luke Living Center, Marion.

Born on Aug. 28, 1916, in Lost Springs, she was the daughter of Charles and Mille (Neuwirth) Stuchlik. She grew up in Lost Springs and attended school through the 10th grade.

On Aug. 23, 1933, she married Frank Anton Tajchman at Pilsen. The couple had 13 children.

She was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church, Holy Family Parish, Marion, and was dedicated to both her family and the church, committing herself to a daily recitation of the rosary.

She was a member of the church choir, St. Mark's Altar Society, the Singin' Grannies, and the VFW Ladies' Auxiliary.

She enjoyed dressing up, dancing, bowling, playing board games, singing, and cooking.

In 1975, she received a KU Adult Care Home Institute certificate and a certificate from the Wichita District Dietetic Association in 1977. She was employed by Spain's Nursing Home, Mid-America Nursing Home, and SRS Homemaker Services.

Devoted to her family, she will be remembered as a loving, caring, religious person whose guiding care will be missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank; a son, Thomas; a daughter, Rosalie Harman; a brother, Richard Stuchlik; sister, Olga Tsumpes; and two half-sisters, Adeline Makovec and Nettie Horelich.

Survivors include six sons, Gerald and Pat Tajchman of Monroe, Wash., Marcel and Barbara Tajchman of McPherson, David and Connie Tajchman of Bel Aire, Frank Tajchman, Mark and Lori Tajchman, and Charles and Kay Tajchman, all of Marion; five daughters, Georgene and Harold Byram of Haysville, Virginia and Roman Albert of Mannford, Okla., Carmelita and Richard Simon of Canton, Judith and Jay Smith and Lanell and Aaron Hett, all of Marion; a brother, Alex Stuchlik of Lost Springs; a sister, Mary Jane Steiner of Wichita; 49 grandchildren; 61 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

The rosary was recited Thursday evening at St. Mark Catholic Church, Marion. Rosary leaders were Marcel and Barbara Tajchman.

The Mass of Resurrection was said Friday morning at St. Mark Catholic Church, Marion, with Father Richard Stuchlik and Father Steve Gronert as concelebrants.

Roman Albert Jr., was lector.

Jay Smith and Tiffany Tajchman were vocalists. Charlene Svitak was organist. Alex Stuchlik was accordionist.

Casket bearers were Marcel Tajchman, Frank Tajchman, Charles Tajchman, David Tajchman, Mark Tajchman, and Harold Byram.

Honorary casket bearers were Thomas Tajchman and Gerald Tajchman.

Burial was in Marion Cemetery.

Memorial funds have been established with the church and with St. Luke Living Center.
