Anna Orvell Brunner

Anna Orvell Brunner, 87, of Ramona, died Jan. 20, 2008, at Via Christi Medical Center-St. Francis campus, Wichita.

Born Jan. 1, 1921, on the family farm near Hope, she was the daughter of Merlin and Lena Mae (Rock) Long.

She attended Prairie Union Grade School, Hope High School, and graduated from McPherson College in 1942. She taught school at Castleton and later at Ramona.

On June 3, 1945, she married Lauren Brunner.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Ramona.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Verden Long and an infant brother, Raymond; and two grandsons, Tyler and Travis Brunner.

Survivors include her husband, Lauren of Ramona; daughter and husband, Ann and Bernie Koch of Wichita; three sons, Kent and Jean Brunner of Lost Springs, Tracy and Yvonne Brunner and Mark Brunner, all of Ramona; sister, Arvis Shields of Raytown, Mo.; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Ramona, with the Rev. Clark Davis officiating.

Burial will be in Lewis Cemetery, Ramona.

A memorial has been established with the church.
