Annie Jean Winkley
Annie Jean Winkley, 85, died March 20, 2007, at Golden Living Center, Marion.
Born Jan. 17, 1922, at Marion, she was the daughter of Louis and Ruby (Richardson) Christensen.
On Sept. 28, 1941, she married Lawrence Winkley at Marion. She was a farm wife and homemaker as well as a member of Eastmoor United Methodist Church and the Women's Christian Temperance Union (WCTU).
Survivors include her husband, Lawrence of Marion; two sons, William Winkley of Mission Viejo, Calif., and Jerry Winkley of Valley Center; daughter, Ruby McElfresh of McGowan, Texas; sister-in-law, Eunice Christensen of Marion; 14 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at Eastmoor United Methodist Church, Marion, with Pastor Vernon Bowers officiating. Burial was in Marion Cemetery.
Memorial funds have been established with the church, the Arthritis Foundation, or the Diabetes Foundation.
