Annual Labor Day celebration at Florence is in peril

Members of Florence Labor Day committee have put out an urgent request for interested individuals to attend an organizational meeting at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 25 at the ambulance building in Florence.

"No one has stepped up to the plate to take the reigns for this year," said Trayce Warner, committee member. "The 'usual suspects' are suffering from burn-out and the committee needs an infusion of new blood and new ideas."

Warner stressed all ideas are welcome as are all participants.

"We hate to see the celebration just die out," she said. "But if we don't get some leadership and fresh people involved that is what is going to happen."

Anyone unable to attend, but willing to help should contact Warner at 878-4412.
