Area towns prepare for Scarecrows on Parade" years ago

Residents of Ramona, Tampa, Lost Springs, Lincolnville, and Burdick are invited to participate in the second annual Scarecrows On Parade competition from Oct. 10-31.

There are three categories of competition: residential, $50 for first place and a trophy, $30 for second, and $20 for third; business, trophy and photograph; children's entries, scarecrows primarily built by children, first place will be awarded in each town and a special artistic award.

Scarecrows must be on display by Oct. 10. They must be homemade. Those purchased will not be considered in the competition. All entries must be within city limits and located outdoors.

A scarecrow map will be created by event coordinator Jessica Gilbert and will be available in cities by Oct. 14.
