Athletes are bright spot

To the Editor:

I would like to point out one of the many bright spots in Marion. The Marion kids' wrestling club qualified six wrestlers for the state tournament in Topeka.

They were Remington Putter, Zac Lewman, Kyle Palic, Colton Jeffrey, Colton Johnson, and Dillon Wildin.

These young athletes from Marion performed very well and represented our town in a very positive way.

Kyle Palic placed second and earned the right to wrestle in the national tournament if he chooses.

Colton Jeffrey and Dillon Wildin each placed sixth in their respective weight classes.

The others who qualified gave their best effort and handled themselves like champions. I commend these kids for their hard work and dedication.

I also would like to thank all the people who volunteer their time to make our kids' wrestling club a huge success. I'm not going to mention names because I don't want to run the risk of forgetting someone. These people are examples of why it is great to live in Marion.

Congratulations and I thank you all.
