Auxiliary announces awards received

Twelve members of Ecker-Fulkerson-Slifer VFW Post #6958 ladies' auxiliary met July 19 at the post home.

President Donna Kreutziger conducted the meeting.

A thank you note for clothing donations from Fort Dodge was read. Auxiliary also received an invitation from LAVFW Post #1650, Topeka to attend the 75th anniversary Aug. 6.

Program information for 2005-06 was distributed and explained by Kreutziger and Mary Ford.

Membership drive for 2005-06 is under way. Dues are $19. Members also were asked to include $1 for the growing dollar project. Members will receive a letter and phone call from the membership committee to remind them to pay dues early so the auxiliary can qualify for contest awards.

The auxiliary won awards at the department level for Buddy Poppy, national home, publicity, junior girls, hospital, patriotic art, and Voice of Democracy.

The charter was draped in memory of Dorothy Wright. Audit report was given.

The auxiliary will furnish desserts Sunday for steak night.

The meeting was closed according to ritual and with the National Home and POW-MIA prayers.

The next meeting will be at 7 p.m. Aug. 9 at the post home. Lois Weber and Frances Kreutzinger will host the social time.
