Bands offer variety at Chingawassa Days

The Friday evening entertainment at this year's Chingawassa Days offers a variety of country and folk music.

Diamond W Wranglers, previously known as the Prairie Rose Wranglers, will headline the Friday evening entertainment by providing classic western music.

Jim Farrell, Stu Stuart, Orin Friesen, and Steve Crawford blend their talents in one of the premiere cowboy groups in the area.

The family-oriented show will include songs such as "Cool Water," "Tumbling Tumbleweeds," and "Ghost Riders in the Sky," with classic cowboy trail songs and Prairie Rose Wranglers originals.

Hopkins Switch will perform prior to the Wranglers with a blend of acoustic folk and country music.

Three members, Zeb Hatfield, Adam Jensen, and Eric Tippin, provide a rhythm guitar, piano, mandolin, bass guitar, and drums with vocals for an eclectic blend.

Hopkins Switch will take the stage at 6:45 p.m. June 6 at Central Park, Marion, followed by Diamond W Wranglers at 7:45 p.m.

Prior to the bands' performances, a barbecue and ice cream social will be served beginning at 6 p.m.

Buttons are available for $20 each until May 25 when they will be $30 each. A $5 pass can be purchased for Saturday events.
