Bernadine Gronau
Bernadine M. Gronau, 92, Whitewater, died March 8, 2008, at Newton Medical Center, Newton.
Born May 3, 1915, at Florence, she was the daughter of Joseph and Ina (McAllister) Waner.
She was a farm wife and former cook at Axtell Hospital, Newton.
In February 1942, she married John J. Gronau Sr., at Florence. He died in 1961.
Survivors include two sons, John Gronau Jr., of Whitewater and Bernard Gronau of Seguin, Wash.; brother, Tom Waner of Lawrence; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Newton, followed by the funeral Mass at 10:30.
Inurnment will occur at a later date at St. Mary's Cemetery, Newton.
A Bernadine Gronau memorial fund has been established with Lamb Funeral Home, Whitewater.
