Betty Bass
Betty J. Bass, 71, of Burns, died April 11, 2007, at Harry Hynes Hospice, Wichita.
Born Sept. 15, 1935, at El Dorado, she was the daughter of Arlie and Nellie (Essex) Cartwright.
She worked at the Marion hospital, in a nursing home as a CNA, and also worked in rehabilitation.
On Sept. 2, 1954, she married David Bass at Wichita. He died in 1987.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; a son, David Bass; and daughter, Sheryl.
Survivors include four sons, Johnny Bass, Kevin Bass, Richard Bass, and Michael Bass, all of Burns; four daughters, Linda Catlin of Florence, Charlotte Bass of Marion, Tammy Bass of Newton, and Rregina Miller of Burns; brother, Robert Cartwright of Wichita; 19 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at Carlson Funeral Home, El Dorado. Burial was in Sunset Lawns Cemetery, El Dorado.
A memorial fund has been established in her name with Harry Hynes Hospice.
