Bina receives excellence award

Brian Bina, son of Laverne and Harriet Bina of Marion, recently was awarded the Interfraternity Excellence Award at Emporia State University. Bina is a member of Sigma Tau Gamma, Delta Chapter Fraternity.

The award was based on excellence shown in fraternal activity, leadership, academics, and intrafraternalism.

Bina was chosen as a representative from Sigma Tau Gamma by other fraternities at ESU. A total of five men were selected from among the six fraternities at ESU to receive this award. A panel of administrators interviewed each candidate and selected the one that best portrayed the characteristics of the award.

Bina has been an active member at ESU for the past four years. He has been involved in ESU Ambassadors, the ESU Honors Program, Order of Oemga, Phi Eta Sigma, Accounting Club, Pre-Law Club, Cardinal Key, and currently is the Interfraternity Council Activities Chairman.

He also had the honor of being selected to plan and coordinate the inauguration of ESU's new president, Dr. Michael Lane.

Bina currently is a senior at ESU, majoring in accounting and pre-law. He plans to apply for law school in the fall.
