Bloodmobile set for Aug. 3 at Marion
American Red Cross is urging area residents to donate blood from 1:15 to 6:15 p.m. Aug. 3 at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 320 S. Cedar, Marion.
During the summer months, blood donations continue to be needed. However, donors are encouraged to drink at least eight extra glasses of water or fruit juices the day before donating and the day of the donation to avoid dehydration because of the summer heat.
Caffeinated beverages such as soft drinks, tea, and coffee, and alcoholic beverages should be avoided. People also should be well nourished but shouldn't plan to donate right after a meal.

Walk-in donors are welcome. However, those with appointments will be given priority.
Eligible donors must be at least 17 years of age, weight 110 pounds or more, and be in good health. Photo identification is required.
