Marion County Park & Lake will host "Bluegrass at the Lake" June 21.

Steve Hudson, lake superintendent, said a stage will be set up using the lake as background. "We really encourage people to bring blankets and chairs. Seating will be on the grassy hill."

Hudson said he is trying to set up vendors for the event, much like Chingawassa Days.

The event will feature the bluegrass group, The Greenhorns. They will perform from 8 to 10 p.m.

From 5 to 8 p.m. there will be open stage. "People can come up and sing. It's a jam session," said Hudson.

The festival is free to the public but donations are welcome. Any money collected will go to the Marion County Park & Lake fund to help pay for the featured band. Hudson said the money may help fund future events or improvements to the lake.

In case of inclement weather, the festival will be moved to the lake hall.
