Bob Madsen

Robert "Bob" Madsen, 75, died July 31, 2004, in Florence.

Born March 24, 1929, in Marion County, he was the son of Neils and Mary Ethel (Wilbur) Madsen.

He grew up and attended school in the Peabody community. Madsen worked as a carpenter, mechanic, and service station operator throughout his life.

He had resided in Florence the past 10 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel, in 1997; a stepson, Herb Fitch; a sister, Martha Richmond; three brothers, Lawrence, Elmer, and Walter; and his parents.

Madsen is survived by a son, Jim of Rio Rancho, N.M.; two daughters, Marsha Lewis of Oakley, Calif., and Carol Ann Ouellette of Antioch, Calif.; three brothers, Earl of Peabody, Arthur of Abilene, and Willard of Florida; two sisters, Esther Hiebert and LaVerna Hess, both of Abilene; and three grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Friday at Zeiner Funeral Home, Florence, with Pastor Jim Pohlman officiating. Burial was in Hillcrest Cemetery, Florence.

Vocalist was Bennie Holtsclaw. Dolly Soyez was organist.

Casket bearers included Jeff Madsen, Ronnie Madsen, Earl Madsen, Joe Hess, Robert Hiebert, and Roger Giesbrecht.

Jim Madsen, Arthur Madsen, Willard Madsen, Jess Richmond, Larry Blosser, Keith Holtsclaw, and Ralph Kirkham were honorary casket bearers.

A memorial has been established with the American Heart Association.
