Bravo 'Seussicians'

Marion High School students certainly outdid themselves this past weekend. Their performances in "Seussical the Musical" kept audience members enthralled and delighted through three performances.

The amount of talent on that stage was overwhelming. We've come to expect great performances by seasoned actors like Chelsea Arnhold and Michael Brookens, and they did not disappoint. Chelsea played the mischievous Cat in the Hat with a flair all her own. Michael was the downtrodden Horton the Elephant who everyone loved.

Derek Vetter played the part of JoJo like it was written for him. Tedra Eis was endearingly delightful as Gertrude McFuzz. The voices of Whitney Wear and Allison Meador had the audience begging for more.

Jordan Timm, Rachel Davidson, and Trevor Jones were wonderful as well. In fact, not one cast member should be left out of the praise and accolades.

That goes for musicians, set designers, costumes, and everyone who had anything to do with the production, including director Janet Killough and musical director Kevin Moler.

The dedication and cooperation of all involved raised a "wonderful" performance to "fabulous and outstanding."

All these things combined for a great evening of entertainment. It gave those in the audience a glimpse of what talent lies hidden beneath the exterior of the everyday Marion High School student.

Those who attended have memories of a delightful evening and it leaves them wondering what's in store for future performances.

Those who missed it will just have to take our word for it — it truly was magnificent.
