Brock Pigorsch

Brock Pigorsch, 21, of Herington, died Jan. 18, 2008, near Onawa, Iowa.

Born Nov. 27, 1986, at Manhattan, he was the son of Bradley and Rolinda (Smith) Pigorsch.

He graduated from Herington High School in 2005 and was a sophomore at York College, York, Neb. While in high school he played football, wrestled, and played baseball. He coached flag football and was winter homecoming king in 2005.

After high school he attended Labette County Community College where he was on the wrestling team. He worked at U.S. Stone and helped coach Herington high school and middle school wrestling teams. He returned to school this fall at York College.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Wilma Pigorsch.

Survivors include his mother, Rolinda Martin of Clay Center; father, Brad Pigorsch of Lansing; brother, Brandon Pigorsch of York, Neb.; maternal grandparents, Galen and Karen Smith of Alta Vista; and paternal grandfather, Kenneth Pigorsch of Herington.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Herington.

Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the Herington High School Scholarship Fund in Brock's memory for students pursuing a degree in education and coaching.
