Perry Gutsch was a late Tuesday afternoon visitor of Darlene Gutsch.

Candice Denault of Salina spent Saturday afternoon and Sunday with Neva Peterson. C.J. and Pat Baker were Sunday visitors.

Bruce Winkler and his mother, Doris Winkler of Marion picked up Darlene Gutsch Thursday evening and they enjoyed supper at Al's Café, Lost Springs.

Marilyn Hageberg, Shirley Miller, Goldie Steeley, nieces Shirley Gawith of Salina and Janet Johnson of Enterprise, and Janet's daughter, Linda of McPherson met Thursday for an outing together. They had lunch at the Hays House at Council Grove and were guests after lunch at the home of Shirley Miller for dessert. They were celebrating Janet's birthday. They reported that Goldie was doing well and enjoyed the outing. She was awarded "resident of the year" at the home where she lives and received a plaque and food at a local restaurant.

Wade Rickenbrode of Council Grove was a Friday overnight and Saturday guest of Evelyn Forsberg.

Beth Weibert of Abilene was guest of honor at a community come-and-go baby shower Jan. 27 at the Burdick United Methodist Church. Hostesses were Linda Peterson, Janet Matz, Susan Carlson, Nancy Riggin, Barb Kurtenbach, and Ruth Ann Carlson. Guests introduced themselves and Beth opened her lovely gifts.

Special guests were Diana Jost, Tory Jost of St. Mary's, Brenda Weibert and Madelaine, Shirley Kasper, Shirley Weibert and Jamie Peters of Hillsboro, Emily Saft and son, Rowan and Kendra Kuhlman and Kiera of Lawrence, Liz McAfee and Esmee of Liberal, Corey Sader and Brylee of Salina, Marva Morrison of Wichita and Cindy Baldwin and Sharon Walker of McPherson. There were 20-25 other guests also present.

Ruth Riggin visited Paula Fike Thursday at Herington hospital.

Mike and Karen Beneke of Lincolnville were Friday evening visitors of Darlene Gutsch.

Keep Joyce and Ruth Ann Carlson and their family in your thoughts and prayers this week after the death Tuesday of Joyce's sister, Lulu Woodruff of Salina.

C.J. and Pat Baker and Jack Riggin were Sunday dinner guests of Ruth Riggin.

Ruth Riggin enjoyed visiting with her great-granddaughter, Brylee Sader, who was attending the Weibert shower at Burdick Sunday with her mother, Corey Sader of Salina.

Saturday dinner guests of Ruth Riggin were C.J. and Pat Baker, Marc Baker and son, Tom and Kim Liebel, Parker and McKenzie of Lawrence, and Jack Riggin. They cleaned up the storm-fallen limbs from the December ice storm at Ruth's home.

Lee and Elinor Remy attended the Centre High School basketball game Jan. 27. Their grandson, Tye Remy was crowned winter homecoming king of courts at halftime.

Burdette and Maureen Peterson were Sunday afternoon visitors of Mary Deane Peterson.

Ethan Forsberg was a Wednesday after school visitor of Evelyn Forsberg.

Evelyn Forsberg entertained Sunday noon with a dinner in honor of Harry Schump's birthday. Others attending were Dean and Nanette Forsberg and Ethan, Joe Forsberg of Salina, Savannah Forsberg of Emporia, Willie Hicks, Sammy Seifert, and Mike and Jane Rickenbrode, Wade and Morgan of Council Grove. The group spent the afternoon clearing up the downed limbs from the December ice storm.

Forrest and Marie Anderson visited Sunday afternoon with Maurine Johnson at Lindsborg.

Hebron Lutheran WELCA met Wednesday evening at the home of Jewell Swinney. Nancy Hanson was hostess and Gloria Martin was the lesson leader. Others attending were Carol Riffel, Naomi Nelson, Lois Peterson, and Hallie Novak.

Keith and Dianne Miller, who have been houseguests of Earl and Lois Peterson, left Tuesday for their home at Grand Junction, Colo.

The Burdick United Methodist Church is sponsoring a benefit Saturday evening at the church fellowship hall. A soup supper will begin at 5:30 p.m. and an auction at 7. This is a benefit to help local families in need. There will be baked items, valentine gifts, and other items at the auction.
