Mary Deane Peterson took her granddaughters, Josie Peterson of Lincolnville and Chelsea Cowart of Herington to lunch Monday noon at the Trail Side Bakery at Council Grove. Besides having a delicious lunch, they learned lots of local history about Indian lore.

Dean Forsberg was a Wednesday morning visitor of Evelyn Forsberg.

The Corlberg-Smith American Legion post #147 and auxiliary celebrated the Legion's birthday Tuesday evening with a potluck meal at the Legion hall.

Ethan Forsberg and Harry Schump of Herington were Thursday supper guests of Evelyn Forsberg.

Burdick UMW met Feb. 20 in the church fellowship hall with eight members present. Ruth Ann Carlson gave the devotions. Kiki Krause presented the lesson, "Learning for a Lifetime." Hostess Linda Peterson served refreshments. The next meeting will be at 7:30 p.m. March 19.

Savannah Forsberg of Emporia and Dean Forsberg were Friday afternoon visitors of Evelyn Forsberg.

Perry Gutsch of Herington was a Wednesday noon visitor of Darlene Gutsch. He did some chores for her while he was there.

Jean Brunner was a late Tuesday afternoon visitor of Charles and Arlene Carlson.

Harry Schump picked up Evelyn Forsberg and took her to church Sunday morning at Herington and was a dinner guest of Evelyn at noon.

Kent, Nolan, and Mark Brunner had a bull sale Saturday afternoon at Herington Livestock, which Charles and Arlene Carlson attended.

Clint Jost cleared the church parking lot and Gary Hageberg and the Basore girls cleaned the walks before the Sunday church service.

Gene and Jackie Hageberg of New Mexico were Saturday afternoon guests of Gary and Marilyn Hageberg. They also visited with Dan and Dee Hageberg and Steven Hageberg at the market Saturday afternoon.

Earl and Lois Peterson, Roger Peterson, and Rolland Peterson attended church services Sunday and a covered dish dinner.

Joyce Roever was a Thursday lunch guest of Mary Deane Peterson.

Charles and Arlene Carlson attended a 90th birthday party for Verniece Laudeman Sunday afternoon at White City. Other guests were Ken and Alice Peterson of Herington, Ronnie and Mary Laudeman, and Susan Laudeman.

Earl and Lois Peterson went to Wichita Feb. 25, where Earl had knee surgery at the Kansas Surgery and Rehab Hospital. Keep them in your prayers.

Hebron Lutheran WELCA met Wednesday evening after Lenten services at the church. Hallie Novak was the lesson leader. Attending were Nancy Hanson, Jewell Swinney, Gloria Martin, Carol Riffel, Marilyn Peterson, and Lois Peterson.

Tom and Lynley Remy and family took dinner, ice cream, and cake to the home of Lee and Elinor Remy Feb. 3 to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary, which was Feb. 2.

Some of the Alpha group from Burdick United Methodist Church attended a retreat Feb. 15-16 at Morning Star Ranch. Those attending were Linda Basore, Diana Jost, Susan Carlson, Janet Matz, and Rick and Khrista Branson.

Ruth Riggin celebrated her birthday Saturday noon with dinner at Al's Café at Lost Springs. Others helping her celebrate were Jack and Nancy Riggin and O.J. and Kelly Pearl of Lawrence.

There was a community baby shower Feb. 17 for Lindsay (Matz) Morgan at the Burdick United Methodist Church fellowship hall. Twenty-two guests attended. Hostesses were Linda Peterson, Diana Jost, Nancy Riggin, Karen Carlson, Ruth Ann Carlson, and Susan Carlson. Special guests were her mother, Janet Matz; grandmother, Evelyn Matz; aunt, Sharon Matz; niece, Maggie Matz; Jim's mother, Jan Morgan; and Jim's sister, Julia Morgan.

Jane Rickenbrode and Morgan of Council Grove were Friday dinner guests of Evelyn Forsberg. Afternoon visitors were Harry Schump of Herington, Savannah Forsberg of Emporia, and Nanette Forsberg and Ethan.

Jean Brunner was a Sunday afternoon visitor of Charles and Arlene Carlson. She reports Loren Brunner is doing OK but needs lots of help.

Diana Jost visited Darlene Gutsch Friday afternoon with some church business. She brought her a piece of red velvet cake and some candy for belated valentine's greetings.

Dean Forsberg was a Tuesday and Wednesday dinner guest of Evelyn Forsberg.
