Mike Peterson and Kasey of Lyndon were weekend guests of Jim and Marilyn Peterson.

Dan and Linda Peterson attended a district wrestling tournament Saturday at McPherson. Tate and Toby Omli of Brookville participated. Tate Omli placed first and will advance to the state level.

Good Friday services will be held at 7 p.m. at Burdick United Methodist Church. The film "The Passion of The Christ" will be shown.

Burdick UMW met Wednesday evening at the Methodist church. Janet Matz gave devotions, Kiki Krause presented the lesson, and Linda Peterson and Darlene Gutsch served refreshments. Fourteen members were present.

Earl and Lois Peterson, and Roger, Rolland, and Oliver Peterson were Sunday afternoon guests of Marie and Gene Thorton of Abilene.

Linda and Dan Peterson, Charles and Darlene Gutsch, and Irvin and Audine Strand attended the 95th birthday party open house for Verle Bowers Sunday afternoon at Herington Senior Center.

Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Peterson accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Bret Beye, Cuyler and Chelsea to Manhattan to attend the KIAAA Awards Banquet. Others attending were Mr. and Mrs. Bud Peterson and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Broce and family of Lincolnville. Bill Broce received the Elmer "Carp" Carpenter award and Bud Peterson was named district athletic director of the year for District I.

Charles and Arlene Carlson were Sunday dinner guests of Kenneth and Alice Peterson of Herington. Others there were Mike and Linda Carlson and Russell and Lily Hurd of Mulvane.

Audine Strand was a Wednesday afternoon visitor of Charles and Darlene Gutsch.

Wendell and Mary Deane Peterson were Monday evening visitors of Earl and Evelyn Forsberg.

Fifty-two Burdick Senior Citizens met Thursday evening at Burdick United Methodist Church. The program was presented by Jennifer and Bill Kassebaum with pictures and a presentation on their trip to Japan.

Celebrating Kasey Peterson's seventh birthday at the home of Jim and Marilyn Peterson March 19 were Kasey and Mike Peterson of Lyndon, Matt and Jamey Dalke, Reagan and Tyler of Hillsboro, Al and Darlene Sondergard of Ramona, Earl and Kaye Risser of Hope, Katylin Evans of Herington, Adriane Peterson and John David of Lawrence, Earl and Lois Peterson, Jamie Peterson, and the hosts, Jim and Marilyn Peterson.

Easter Sunrise services will be held at 6:45 a.m. at Hebron Lutheran Church (Hebron Cross in the Field).

Dean and Nanette Forsberg and Savannah visited Tuesday evening with Earl and Evelyn Forsberg.

Neva Peterson spent the weekend with Candace and Darrell Denault of Salina. The Denaults picked up Neva on Friday and returned her Sunday afternoon. All attended a Cantata Sunday at Salina United Methodist Church.

Wade Rickenbrode of Council Grove came Friday to spend a few days with Earl and Evelyn Forsberg.

An area men's prayer breakfast will be held at 7 a.m. Saturday at Burdick United Methodist Church.

Marilyn Hageberg was a Sunday evening visitor of Shirley Miller.

Dan and Linda Peterson visited Sunday afternoon with Myrtle Peterson at the Sterling House at Abilene.

Shelby and Justin Deines of Ramona were Sunday through Tuesday guests of Charles and Darlene Gutsch. Jeff and Gayla Deines and Jessica joined others from the area for the bus trip to Washington, D.C.

Lee and Elinor Remy attended the Easter Cantata Sunday evening presented by the community choir at St. Paul Lutheran Church at Herington.

Sunday evening visitors of Earl and Evelyn Forsberg were Marvin and Sally Barlow and Marcus and Sabrina Dunkin.

Lee and Elinor Remy and Lynley Remy, Tye and Katie of Lost Springs spent Friday and Saturday with Chuck and Jan Creger and the new twin boys in Ridgedale, Mo.

Charles and Arlene Carlson accompanied Mike and Linda Carlson to a birthday party Saturday for one-year-old Rylee Karst at the home of Jonnie and Cicely Karst at Wichita.

My thought for the week is: An unusual amount of common sense is sometimes called wisdom.
