Gary and Marilyn Hageberg attended the Centre Junior-Senior High School spring vocal and instrumental music concert Thursday evening at the school gym. Their grandson, Trevor Hageberg, was in the program.

Dean Forsberg and Logan Dunkin of Rose Hill spent Monday with Evelyn Forsberg and were dinner guests.

Perry Gutsch and Whitney of Herington were Saturday afternoon visitors of Darlene Gutsch.

Dean Forsberg was a Thursday morning visitor of Evelyn Forsberg.

Gary and Marilyn Hageberg attended a fund-raiser Friday for Gail and Carol Burns which was held at the 4-H building on the Council Grove fairgrounds. A large crowd attended and food was sold out. Many of those who had been a part of his band were there.

Mary Deane Peterson was a Wednesday evening supper guest of Burdette and Maureen Peterson.

Please remember Shirley Miller as she recuperates at home after surgery Wednesday at Emporia.

Rylee and Preslee Karst of Wichita are spending a few days with their grandparents, Mike and Linda Carlson. They all were Wednesday afternoon visitors of Charles and Arlene Carlson.

Gene and Marie Thorton and Steve Thorton of Abilene brought Sunday dinner to Roger and Rolland Petersons'. Other guests were Lois Peterson and Mary Deane Peterson.

Ruth Riggin enjoyed lunch out Sunday at Salina with Julie and Lyal Sader.

Charles and Arlene Carlson visited Loren Brunner Sunday afternoon at Ramona. Others there were Kent and Jean Brunner, Jill Brunner and Tucker, and Cal Brunner, Wichita.

Evelyn Forsberg accompanied Mary Deane Peterson Saturday to Abilene. Evelyn visited her cousin, Jane Miles. Mary Deane spent the day with Lester and Marie Thorton. Mary Deane, Marie Thorton, and Elva Nelson of Abilene worked on a quilt.

Visiting Darlene Gutsch this week were Marilyn Hageberg, Kiki Krause of Lincolnville, and Pastor Rick and Khrista Branson of Marion.

Jane Rickenbrode, Wade and Morgan of Council Grove were Sunday dinner guests of Evelyn Forsberg. Afternoon visitors were Joe Forsberg of Salina, Savannah Forsberg of Emporia, Ethan Forsberg, and Willy Hicks.

Bill and Dorothy Broce of Lincolnville and Bruce and Alona Hedstrom enjoyed a trip to Hawaii March 11-20. They visited three islands, Oahu, Hawaii, and Maui. They joined a group from the Wichita area, which was hosted by Larry Hatteberg and his wife, Judy of KAKE Channel 10.

They were welcomed to Honolulu with a lei greeting before touring Pearl Harbor, USS Arizona Memorial, the state capital, and Iolani Palace. Other tours included a trip to the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, located in an extinct volcano known as the Punchbowl. They strolled through the International Market Place, which was next to their hotel.

They flew into Helo, where they traveled through Volcanoes National Park, passing volcanic craters and steaming pits. They spent two nights in Kona at the Keauhou Bay Resort.

On Palm Sunday morning, as they were leaving breakfast, they were surprised to see Jenna (Falen) Heinrichs and her family from Kansas.

After a scenic flight to Maui, highlights of the day included the largest tropical aquarium in the U.S. at Maui Ocean Center, a drive through the historical streets of Lahaina Town, and the largest banyon tree of Hawaii.

They spent one day whale-watching on a boat in the Pacific Ocean.

They were able to relax and enjoy the Ka'anapoli beach and ocean. In the evening they were guests at one of the finest luaus and Polynesian show of the island.

They enjoyed lunch at Buzz's Wharf Restaurant at Ma'Alaea Harbor, a tour of Maui Tropical Plantation, and a return flight to Honolulu and the return home.

Marilyn Hageberg was a Monday morning visitor of Darlene Gutsch.

Jim and Marlene Gutsch of Emporia were Thursday afternoon visitors of Darlene Gutsch. They were noon dinner guests of Edmund Steiner and others at Pilsen.

Harry Schump of Herington and Dean Forsberg were Wednesday dinner and afternoon guests of Evelyn Forsberg. Ethan Forsberg was a Wednesday afternoon visitor.

Dr. Larry and Susie Peterson of Granby, Colo., were Thursday overnight guests of Candice and Darrell Denault at Salina. Larry and Susie came to Burdick Friday and were guests of Neva Peterson. Darrell and Candice Denault of Salina also were guests of Neva. The following group went to Al's Café at Lost Springs Friday night: Larry and Susie Peterson, Darrell and Candice Denault, Jack and Nancy Riggin, Galen and Janis Peterson, and Neva Peterson. Larry and Susie went to Manhattan Saturday afternoon and returned Sunday to Burdick. They returned home Monday.

Charles and Arlene Carlson were Sunday dinner guests of Kent and Jean Brunner. Jill Brunner and Tucker were there as well. Nolan and Melissa Brunner and Leah of Herington were dinner guests. They were celebrating Jean Brunner's birthday, which was April 2.

Roger Peterson, Rolland Peterson, Lois Peterson, and Ruth Riggin went out for Sunday dinner together at the Mansion at Herington.

Visitors of Darlene Gutsch this week were Lois Peterson, Diana Jost, Perry Gutsch, and Gayla Deines. Sunday afternoon visitors were Pastor Rick Branson, Perry Gutsch and Whitney of Herington, Gayla Deines, and Khrista Branson of Marion.

Mary Deane Peterson was a Saturday visitor of Burdette and Maureen Peterson and their houseguests, Rigo and Mario Salazar of Derby and Chelsea Cowart of Herington.

Bill Newman, National Weather Service, Topeka, was a Thursday morning visitor of Evelyn Forsberg. He presented her with a plaque and pin for 20 years of service for the federal government. Dean Forsberg was a Thursday morning and dinner guest.

Gary and Marilyn Hageberg attended the 50th wedding anniversary open house Sunday afternoon for Marilyn and Jim Cox at Peabody United Methodist Church. Marilyn was a former minister at Burdick United Methodist Church. They also attended the 50th anniversary open house for Lee and Elinor Remy at Hebron Lutheran Church.

Keep Forrest Anderson in your thoughts and prayers as he has surgery this week at Stormont-Vail hospital at Topeka. Forrest and Marie Anderson went Monday to the home of Gary and Karen Korte at Emporia and were overnight guests. Karen took them to Topeka Tuesday and Gary joined them from his office in Topeka.

Mae Forsberg of Riley, Jane Rickenbrode of Council Grove, and Evelyn Forsberg enjoyed lunch together Friday noon.

Mary Deane Peterson and Josie Peterson of Lincolnville attended church Sunday and Josie was a noon luncheon guest.

Harry Schump was a Sunday dinner guest of Evelyn Forsberg. Mary Deane Peterson was a Sunday evening visitor.

Marie Anderson and Karen Korte went to Manhattan Saturday to visit Erin Korte.

The children of Lee and Elinor Remy spent the weekend helping them celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. They are Tim and Heather Remy, Cydney, Taylor, Tanner, and Corry of Hudsonville, Mich., Tom and Lynley Remy, Tad, Tye, and Katie of Lost Springs, and Jan and Chuck Creger, Jacob, Caleb, Logan, and Alexa of Ridgedale, Mo.

A dinner was held Saturday evening at the Hebron Lutheran Church basement for the family, wedding party, and close friends. Entertainment was a duet by Jan and Chuck and a video of the life of Lee and Elinor.

An open house was held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday in the church basement with music provided by the family.

Sunday evening supper guests of Lee and Elinor were Lee and Heather Remy and family, Tom and Lynley Remy and family, and Chuck and Jan Creger and family.

All the children of Lee and Elinor Remy attended church services with them to celebrate their wedding anniversary. Jan and Chuck Creger had special music for the service.
