Charles and Arlene Carlson attended a pre-Thanksgiving dinner Saturday, hosted by Esther Wernecke and Mr. and Mrs. Gary Wernecke of Georgia at her home in White City. Other guests were Russell and Lily Hurd of Mulvane, Doris Deines and Lynn of Dodge City, and Ken and Alice Peterson of Herington.

In the afternoon, they toured the District #10 Baxter School which originally was located between White City and Woodbine and later moved to Katy Park for historical purposes. Arlene said she and some of her siblings attended school there and attendance at one time was 38 pupils.

Gary and Marilyn Hageberg attended the Marine Corps ball Nov. 10 at the Ramada Inn at Topeka. Phillip Hageberg returned home with them. Theresa Hageberg and Kennry Roberts of Topeka came Saturday to visit with Gary, Marilyn, and Phillip. Phillip returned home with them.

Ruth Riggin was a Nov. 4 supper guest of Jack and Nancy Riggin and their guests.

Josie Peterson of Lincolnville spent the weekend with Mary Deane Peterson.

Savannah Forsberg and Evelyn Forsberg attended the play Friday night at Centre High School. Ethan Forsberg was a member of the cast.

A catered dinner of turkey and all the trimmings was served to Burdick senior citizens at noon Nov. 17 at the Legion hall. Twenty-two people enjoyed the bountiful meal. Guests Bob and Hallie Novak of Lost Springs gave a program on a recent 18-day trip to the Czech Republic. The program included highlights of their trip, pictures, and souvenirs. A short business meeting was held with secretary and treasurer reports. New officers were elected: Nancy Hanson, president; Lee Remy, vice president; Lois Peterson, secretary; and Marie Anderson, treasurer.

Marva Morrison of Wichita and Sharon Benton of Pensacola, Fla., came for dinner this week with Clint and Diana Jost and James Jost.

Everyone is invited to a community Christmas supper at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 13 hosted by the Hebron Lutheran Church and held in the church fellowship hall. Food will be provided. Bring a non-perishable food item to be given to the food bank at Prairie Pantry.

Charles and Arlene Carlson visited Kent and Jean Brunner Sunday and attended their annual livestock sale. Arlene reported there was a large crowd attending and lunch was served to all.

Harry Schump of Herington and Evelyn Forsberg were Saturday supper guests of Mike and Jane Rickenbrode, Wade and Morgan at Council Grove. They were celebrating Mike's birthday.

Darlene Gutsch attended the 2006 church conference Sunday afternoon at Eastmoor United Methodist Church, Marion. Others from the Burdick church who attended were Diana Jost, James Jost, and Ronnie and Susan Carlson.

Weekend guests of Neva Peterson were Larry Peterson of Granby, Colo., Josh Peterson of Grand Lake, Colo., Tom Burdick of Castle Rock, Colo., Drew Burdick of Pennsylvania, Craig Kent and Tanner of Michigan, Gene Ronsick of Kansas City, Mo., and Darrell and Candace Denault of Salina. Other callers during the weekend were Jake Tindle of Hutchinson, Glen and Sandy Carlson and family, Justin Carlson of Council Grove, and Steve Nelson.

Bret and Lisa Beye entertained Nov. 19 with a dinner at their home in Herington in honor of Chelsea's ninth birthday. Other guests were Samantha Beye of Emporia, Cuyler and Elizabeth Beye, Bill and Judy Peterson of Herington, Janelle Alt of Salina, Marvin and Shelley Peterson and Josie of Lincolnville, Roger Peterson, Rolland Peterson, Naomi Nelson, Mary Deane Peterson, and Burdette and Maureen Peterson, Burdick.

Harry Schump of Herington spent Sunday with Evelyn Forsberg. Marcus and Sabrina Dunkin and Logan of Rose Hill visited Sunday evening.
