Keith and Dianne Miller of Grand Junction, Colo., came Wednesday for the Peterson-Richard wedding Saturday evening at Lawrence. They were houseguests of Earl and Lois Peterson. After the wedding, they went to Topeka to visit Keith's relatives. Others attending the wedding were Phil and Jamie Peterson, Jim and Marilyn Peterson, Earl and Lois Peterson, Burdette and Maureen Peterson, Nancy Riggin, David and Connie Johnson, Kirsten and Kody, Mike and Denice Hageberg, all of Burdick; Matt and Jamie Dalke, Reagan and Tyler of Lindsborg; Keith Miller of Grand Junction, Colo., Jeff Miller of Denver, Colo., and Greg Miller of Colorado Springs, Colo., who are cousins of the bride. Greg Miller was a disc jockey for the dance and Reagan Dalke was flower girl.

Darlene Gutsch attended an Esther Club OES dinner Monday evening at the Golden Age activity center at Herington. Food was prepared by Pat Miller and dessert by Karen Donahue. A short meeting was held and a program on the history of Christmas carols by Leila Mae Schrader. Eighteen to 20 members and spouses were present. Plans are being made for a St. Patrick's Day meeting in March.

Dean Forsberg was a Tuesday afternoon and Thursday afternoon visitor of Evelyn Forsberg.

Burdick American Legion and Auxiliary met Dec. 4 at the Burdick Legion hall. Six members were present for the legion. Auxiliary members present were Lois Peterson, Rosemary Hempleman, Darlene Gutsch, Linnea Barlow, Nancy Hanson, and one guest, Carol Brockmeier of Herington. Plans were made for a potluck dinner for the legion's 87th birthday on March 4. Linnea Barlow served refreshments to legion and auxiliary members.

Linnea Barlow was a Thursday afternoon visitor of Evelyn Forsberg.

Burdick Senior Citizens will meet at noon Friday for a catered dinner.

Evelyn Forsberg attended a birthday dinner Saturday at the Council Grove Pizza Hut honoring Samantha Forsberg's birthday.

Burdick UMW met Dec. 5 at the Burdick United Methodist Church fellowship hall for their Christmas meeting, potluck supper, short program, and gift exchange.

Twelve members and seven guests attended. After all enjoyed the bountiful meal, the program on the history of St. Nicholas was given by Pastor Rick and Khrista Branson. We were honored by a visit from St. Nick (Santa Claus), who handed out oranges and passed out the gifts for the prayer pal exchange and others.

Lee and Elinor Remy were in Salina Wednesday.

Lisa Beye, Cuyler and Chelsea of Herington and Marie Salazar of Derby were Saturday evening visitors of Mary Deane Peterson. Mario was staying with the Beyes while his parents, Cesar and Kelli Salazar and Rigo attended the Peterson-Richard wedding Saturday evening at Lawrence.

Perry Gutsch picked up Darlene Gutsch Wednesday afternoon and they went to McPherson to visit Linda Gottstein at her home. They ate lunch out and did some shopping before they returned home.

Joe Forsberg of Salina and Dean Forsberg were Monday afternoon visitors of Evelyn Forsberg. Dean was a Tuesday dinner guest.

Darlene Gutsch visited Marilyn Hageberg Thursday afternoon.

Evelyn Forsberg was a Thursday afternoon visitor of Linnea Barlow. Mary Deane Peterson visited Evelyn Thursday evening.

Earl and Lois Peterson attended supper Saturday evening at the Legion hall. It was hosted by the Kelsey Harding family of Diamond Springs.

Wade and Morgan Rickenbrode of Council Grove were Friday overnight and Saturday guests of Evelyn Forsberg.

Cad club was hosted Sunday evening by Vic and Helen Brunner at the Homestead Village activity center at Herington. Guests were Ruth Riggin, Earl and Lois Peterson, Lee and Elinor Remy, and others.

Forest and Marie Anderson visited Maurine Johnson Monday at Bethany Home, Lindsborg. They took her out for lunch.

Mike and Jane Rickenbrode, Wade and Morgan, were Saturday evening supper guests of Evelyn Forsberg. The children returned home.

Earl and Lois Peterson attended memorial services Saturday afternoon for Bob Wangerin at Herington.

Harry Schump of Herington was a Sunday dinner and afternoon visitor of Evelyn Forsberg. Dean Forsberg was an afternoon visitor.

Darlene Gutsch and family hosted a dinner Thanksgiving Day at the Burdick United Methodist Church fellowship hall for the Richmond-Nienstedt family. Those attending were Perry Gutsch and Anthony of Herington; Jeff and Gayla Deines, Shelby and Justin, Ramona; Jessica Deines, Manhattan; Gene and Doris Winkler, Bruce Winkler, Brian and Sherri Hess, Macy, Kelly, Erica, and Jake, Kenny and Bonnie Rindt, Ken and Margie Nienstedt, Annette Nienstedt and Logan, and Bill and Mary Smithhart, all of Marion; Betty Bernhardt and Franci Pankratz, Hillsboro; Dorothy Rindt, Wichita; and Beverly Richmond, Mike Richmond, and Doris Czarnowsky, Lincolnville. In the afternoon, they enjoyed bingo and pictures of Gene Winkler's trip to the hot air balloon festival and pictures from Pam and Glen Hett, who are working in Seattle for a short time.

Lee and Elinor Remy attended the funeral of LeOra Schaaf Monday at St. John Lutheran Church, Lyons Creek, Herington. She was Elinor's aunt.

Dean Forsberg was a Tuesday visitor of Evelyn Forsberg. Ethan Forsberg was a Wednesday afternoon visitor.

Tim and Heather Remy and family of Hudsonville, Mich., were guests of Lee and Elinor Remy from Wednesday afternoon through Saturday afternoon.

The hanging of the greens took place at Nov. 25 at Burdick United Methodist Church. The nativity scene, Christmas tree, and other decorations were put in place. A good crowd was present to help with the work, enjoy the soup supper, and a Christmas movie.

Forrest and Marie Anderson spent from Wednesday afternoon to Sunday with Gary and Karen Korte at Emporia. Gary and Karen hosted a Thanksgiving dinner. Earl and Lois Peterson attended the 50th wedding anniversary celebration for Jim and Joan Thurston Saturday at Elmdale. They also visited Ella Mae Schroer at Strong City.

Jean Brunner was a Sunday afternoon visitor of her parents, Charles and Arlene Carlson. She ran some errands for them.
