Charles and Darlene Gutsch attended the Herington Elementary School winter program Tuesday evening. Their granddaughter, Whitney Gutsch, a third-grader, was in the program.

The Burdick senior citizens met Dec. 15 at the Legion hall. A catered turkey dinner was served to 27 people. Marie Anderson gave a devotional and prayer. She also briefly explained the finances of the organization.

After dinner a short meeting was conducted by Darlene Gutsch, outgoing president. She read a few humorous quotes. The secretary's and treasurer's reports were given. The incoming president is Nancy Hanson. Consult the Burdick news and senior citizen news for information on meetings, which are held the third Friday of the month.

The WELCA had a community Christmas supper Wednesday evening at Hebron Lutheran Church fellowship hall. Nancy Hanson read a poem and gave the blessing before dinner. A ham dinner was served to about 35 people. A short program was given by Janis Peterson and Gloria Martin. All participated in singing Christmas carols. A crossword puzzle game about the content of the program was played. Cookies and coffee were served after the program.

Perry Gutsch and Anthony of Herington took Darlene and Charles Gutsch out for supper Saturday night at Al's Café in Lost Springs. This was to celebrate Darlene's birthday, which was Dec. 16.

Jeff and Gayla Deines, Jessica, Shelby, and Justin entertained Sunday noon with a dinner for Darlene Gutsch's birthday. Other guests were Charles Gutsch and Dustin Burnett of Lincolnville. Ice cream and birthday cake was served in the afternoon.

Dr. Larry and Suzie Peterson of Granby, Colo., and Mrs. Mike Dickinson, Hayden and Riely of Longmont, Colo., are arriving Sunday evening for a couple days' visit with Neva Peterson.

Monday afternoon visitors of Evelyn Forsberg were Dean Forsberg, Ethan and Savannah and Sabrina Dunkin and Logan of Rose Hill.

Forrest and Marie Anderson attended a Christmas celebration Sunday evening at the home of Earl and Marcella Hermstein of Herington.

Oliver Peterson was admitted Wednesday to the Herington hospital. Remember him with your prayers and cars. Earl and Lois Peterson have been to the hospital to visit him several times.

Harry Schump of Herington and Dean Forsberg were Wednesday supper guests of Evelyn Forsberg.

Marilyn Hageberg and Shirley Miller met Goldie Steeley and her nieces, Janet and Shirley, at Abilene Sunday afternoon. They all attended the Great Plains Theater presentation, "Christmas Little House on the Prairie." Wanda Huyler and Donlie Tanner of Wichita called on Mary Dean Peterson Friday.

Wade Rickenbrode of Council Grove was a weekend guest of Evelyn Forsberg.

Jean Brunner and Tucker were Dec. 9 visitors of Charles and Arlene Carlson and put up the Christmas tree and helped with some housekeeping chores.

Dean Forsberg was a Wednesday dinner guest of Evelyn Forsberg.

Mary Dean Peterson accompanied Burdette and Maureen Peterson to Jim Bell's at Cottonwood Falls Saturday evening. Burdette and Maureen visited Erma Falk at the rest home. They ate at the Emma Chase Café. The Emporia Community Choir was there singing Christmas carols and Burdette, Maureen, and Mary Deane got to join in. On the way home, they stopped to see Ken and Ila Bryant at Diamond Springs.

Mike, Jan, and Morgan of Council Grove were Saturday evening visitors of Evelyn Forsberg. Joe Forsberg of Salina was a Saturday afternoon visitor.

Rylee and Preslee Karst of Wichita were guests of Mike and Linda Carlson from Sunday to Friday. Charles and Arlene Carlson visited at Mike and Linda's several times during the week to see the chidren.

Bill Peterson was a Sunday morning visitor of Mary Deane Peterson.

Harry Schump of Herington was a Sunday afternoon and supper guest of Evelyn Forsberg.
