Burdick UMW met Aug. 16 at the Burdick UM fellowship hall with 14 members and three guests present. One of our quests, Torey Berndt of Herington gave a program on this year's Met Tour complete with slides for the activities of each of the 10 days. Her grandparents, Rhea and Everett Koelling were with her to assist and hear her presentation. The tour included five states: Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Tennessee, and Kentucky. Redbird Mission in Kentucky was one of the places they visited and is one that our unit supports. Devotions were given by Evelyn Matz. Refreshments were served by Susan Carlson and Jean Ecklund. The next meeting will be at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 20 at the Burdick UM fellowship hall.

Houseguests of Joyce and Ruth Ann Carlson from Aug. 1-6 were Ruth Ann's sisters, Irene Lenke of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Marie Clegg of Gladstone, Mo. They were here for an early 60th anniversary celebration with the Carlsons. While here, they took care of business, visited cemeteries and other points of interest, and met with a cousin at Al's Café at Lost Springs.

Dean Forsberg and Sabrina Dunkin and Logan were Tuesday afternoon visitors of Evelyn Forsberg.

Keep Rylee Karst and her relatives in your prayers this week. She will be having her tonsils out this week in Wichita.

Nanette Forsberg and Ethan and Sabrina Dunkin and Logan were Wednesday evening visitor of Evelyn Forsberg.

Cuyler and Chelsea Cowart of Herington were Tuesday overnight and Wednesday guests of Mary Deane Peterson. Other Wednesday dinner guests were Scott Peterson of El Dorado, Selina Seifert of Lost Springs, and Josie Peterson of Lincolnville.

Theresa Hageberg and Kenny Roberts of Topeka came Saturday evening to visit Gary and Marilyn Hageberg. They all went out for supper at Al's Café at Lost Springs.

Dean Forsberg and Joe Forsberg of Salina were Thursday evening visitors of Evelyn Forsberg.

Burdette and Maureen Peterson were Thursday evening and Saturday morning visitors of Mary Deane Peterson.

Burdick United Methodist Church members will be freezing ice cream for the Labor Day concession Saturday afternoon because of the DV Alumni activities on Sunday. It will be at the Burdick Meat Market at 2 p.m. Visitors are welcome to come help enjoy the fun and fellowship.

Marvin Peterson of Lincolnville took Mary Deane Peterson to Hillsboro and McPherson on Friday.

Mr. and Mrs. Dale Burris of Delavan and Dean Forsberg were Friday morning visitors of Evelyn Forsberg Dean also was a dinner guest.

Larry Peterson of Colorado and Neva Peterson, Jack and Nancy Riggin, and Galen and Janis Peterson went out on Friday evening to eat supper at Al's Café at Lost Springs.

The Burdick Council of Clubs are asking for volunteers to help set up for Labor Day celebration at 9 a.m. Saturday.

Ethan and Savannah Forsberg were Saturday morning breakfast guests of Evelyn Forsberg. Savannah also visited Saturday evening.

Mary Deane Peterson was a Friday evening supper guest of Bill and Judy Peterson of Herington at Al's Café at Lost Springs.

Neva Peterson and C.J. and Pat Baker of Lawrence were Sunday dinner guests of Jack and Nancy Riggin. Afternoon visitors were Kent and Betsy Miller, Aaron and Ashlund of Herington and O.J. and Kelly Pearl of Manhattan.

Josie Peterson of Lincolnville was a Saturday overnight and Sunday guest of Mary Deane Peterson.

Evelyn Forsberg was a Sunday dinner guest of Mike and Jane Rickenbrode, Wade and Morgan at Council Grove.

Marvin Peterson of Lincolnville was a Sunday evening visitor of Mary Deane Peterson.

There were 16 guests present at the baby shower for Bethany and Eric Carlson Sunday afternoon at Burdick UM fellowship hall. After the guests introduced themselves and played a couple of games, Bethany opened the gifts. Lime sherbet floats, crackers, cheese, nuts, and mints were served to the guests by the hostesses Diana Jost, Janet Matz, and Linda Peterson.

Keith and Dianne Miller of Grand Junction, Colo., came Saturday for a few days visit with her parents, Earl and Lois Peterson.

Guests of Earl and Lois Peterson Saturday evening to celebrate Jamie Dalke's birthday were Jamie and Matt Dalke, Reagan and Tyler of Hillsboro, Mike Peterson and Kasey of Lyndon, Keith and Dianne Miller of Grand Junction, Colo., Jim and Marilyn Peterson, Ruth Riggin, and Phil and Jamie Peterson.

Those joining together Sunday for a 1 p.m. meal and fellowship at the Woodbine Café were Keith and Dianne Miller of Grand Junction, Colo., Gene and Marie Thornton of Abilene, Bill and Judy Peterson of Herington, Adrienne Peterson and John Richardson of Lawrence, Mike Peterson and Kasey of Lyndon, Josie Peterson of Lincolnville, Phil and Jamie Peterson and Chris, Jim and Marilyn Peterson, Burdette and Maureen Peterson, Mary Deane Peterson, Roger Peterson, Rolland Peterson, Oliver Peterson, Ruth Riggin, Pastor John and Lorraine Gerry and Earl and Lois Peterson Burdick.

On Sunday afternoon, Keith and Dianne Miller, Ruth Riggin, and Earl and Lois Peterson visited Bret and Lisa Beye and family of Herington and to see their new home.
