Burdick: Coffee Club bunch meets to celebrate birthdays from first three months

The Coffee Club bunch met Saturday evening to celebrate birthdays for the first three months of the year. Honored guests were Renate Sweet, Delores Stroda, Audine Strand, Verle Bowers, Clarence Gehrke, and Robert Mowat. Twenty-one people attended.

Candace Denault of Salina spent Sunday afternoon with Neva Peterson.

Clint Jost and James Jost visited Friday with Cy Goertz at Marion Manor.

Remember World Day of Prayer at 7 p.m. Friday at Hebron Lutheran Church.

Anthony and Whitney Gutsch of Herington were Monday morning and lunch guests of Charles and Darlene Gutsch. The children had a day's vacation from school.

Wade Rickenbrode of Council Grove spent the weekend with Earl and Evelyn Forsberg. Jane Rickenbrode and Morgan visited the Forsbergs Sunday evening and took him home.

Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Hedstrom spent Friday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Peterson.

A birthday celebration was held Thursday for Vernice Laudeman at her home in White City. Those attending were Charles and Arlene Carlson, Kenneth and Alice Peterson of Herington, and Esther Wernecke of White City.

Perry Gutsch and Anthony of Herington and Charles Gutsch attended Anthony's last basketball game Saturday morning at Junction City.

Irvin and Audine Strand were Tuesday evening guests of Earl and Evelyn Forsberg.

Shelly Crowder and Marvin Peterson of Lincolnville were Wednesday evening visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Peterson.

Gary and Marilyn Hageberg joined Carol and Darrell Dutton of Manhattan Sunday noon for dinner at a restaurant in Manhattan. The celebration was for a belated January birthday of Carol and the Feb. 14 wedding anniversary of Darrell and Carol. The Hagebergs visited at the Dutton home with the Dutton sons, Kevin and Terry of Manhattan in the afternoon.

Charles and Darlene Gutsch attended the benefit pancake supper Sunday evening at Ramona Lutheran Church. Linda Peterson also attended.

Dean Forsberg and Sabrina Dunkin were Wednesday afternoon visitors of Earl and Evelyn Forsberg.

Earl Peterson visited Sunday afternoon with Harvey Hawkinson of Herington.

Linnea Barlow was a Thursday afternoon visitor of Earl and Evelyn Forsberg.

Earl and Lois Peterson and Linnea Barlow took Lorene Hawkinson of Herington to Emporia Tuesday afternoon to visit David Hawkinson.

Wendell and Mary Deane Peterson visited Thursday evening with Earl and Evelyn Forsberg.

Clint and Diana Jost visited her father, Cy Goertz Saturday afternoon at Marion Manor.

Harry Schump of Herington was a Sunday dinner guest of Earl and Evelyn Forsberg.

Charles and Arlene Carlson were Saturday dinner guests of Kent and Jean Brunner of Ramona. Other guests were Jill Brunner and Tucker of Manhattan, Nolan Brunner of Herington, and Clayton McClough of Ramona.

Burdette and Maureen Peterson and Rigo Salazar of Wichita were Saturday afternoon visitors of Wendell and Mary Deane Peterson.

Jim and Marlene Gutsch of Emporia were Sunday afternoon visitors of Charles and Darlene Gutsch. Jim and Marlene finished moving Tuesday from Las Vegas, Nev., to their farm northeast of Emporia. They also visited Sunday afternoon with Edmund Steiner.

Burdick Senior Citizens will hold their regular meeting at 7:30 p.m. March 17 (note change of date) at Burdick United Methodist Church. The program will be presented by Bill and Jennifer Kassebaum on their trip to Tokyo and Hiroshima to visit Howard Baker, ambassador to Japan. The public is invited. Bring light snacks for refreshments.
