Burdick: Peterson attends grandson s wedding

Neva Peterson attended the Sept. 24 marriage of her grandson, Joshua Peterson to Catherine Weimer, both of Grand Lake, Colo. Josh is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Larry Peterson of Granby, Colo. The wedding took place in a meadow with aspen trees in all their glory at Willow Creek Ranch, Granby. Following the ceremony the newlyweds departed in a horse-drawn wagon, driven by the ranch owner. The reception was held at Daven Haven Lodge at Grand Lake, Colo. Others attending included Larry and Susie Peterson, Darrell and Candice Deneault of Salina, Galen and Janis Peterson, Mike and Lisa Dickinson, Hayden and Riley of Longmont, Colo., and numerous friends and relatives. After a honeymoon in California, the couple is at home in Grand Lake.

Logan Dunkin of Herington spent Tuesday and Wednesday with Evelyn Forsberg. Her supper guests Tuesday were Marcus Dunkin of Herington and Mike and Jane Rickenbrode, Wade and Morgan of Council Grove. Dean and Nanette Forsberg and Ethan were evening guests.

Ruby Peterson of Carl Junction, Mo., was a dinner guest this past Monday of Wendell and Mary Deane Peterson. In the evening Ruby, Wendell, and Mary Deane were supper guests of Bill and Judy Peterson at Herington.

Mr. and Mrs. Tore Osth of Kavlinge, Sweden, Mr. and Mrs. Don Peterson of Camdenton, Mo., and Neva Peterson enjoyed Saturday dinner with Ken and Alice Peterson at Herington. The Osths and Don Petersons were Saturday afternoon visitors of Neva.

Twenty-one people attended the senior citizens' meeting Friday at Burdick UM Church fellowship hall. George Adams Sr. showed the video of the 2005 Burdick Labor Day Parade. Forrest and Marie Anderson presented a tape taken at the health fair at Salina on Medicare Part D, with brochures and handouts. Door prizes were won by Harold Hovander and Elmer Otte. Refreshments were served. Tentative plans were made for the noon Nov. 18 meeting at the legion hall which will include a turkey dinner with meat, stuffing, gravy, and potatoes furnished.

Linda Carlson took Arlene and Charles Carlson Thursday to Salina for Arlene's doctor's appointment. She got a good report.

Charles and Arlene Carlson were Saturday visitors of Kent and Jean Brunner. They also visited Jill Brunner and Tucker of Manhattan.

Guests late Wednesday afternoon of Evelyn Forsberg were Sabrina Dunkin and Harry Schump of Herington. Evelyn and Harry attended the Lutheran chicken supper and visited at the home of Irvin and Audine Strand.

Jessica and Justin Deines of Ramona and Dustin Burnett of Lincolnville were Sunday afternoon visitors of Charles and Darlene Gutsch.

Neil Schild of Sacramento, Calif., spent Monday night with Neva Peterson and Larry Peterson of Granby, Colo. Neil called Tuesday on Leona Anderson and Jack and Nancy Riggin. Neil and Neva visited in the afternoon with Paul Anderson at Council Grove. Neil left Tuesday evening for home.

Linnea Barlow and Marvin Barlow were Friday evening visitors of Evelyn Forsberg.

Ruth Riggin and Lois Peterson visited Friday with Gary Zinn at Valley Vista Care Home at Wamego.

Cesar and Kelli Salazar and Rigo of Wichita were Wednesday guests of Wendell and Mary Deane Peterson. Other guests were Lisa Beye, Cuyler and Chelsea of Herington, Maurine Peterson, and Shelly Peterson and Josie of Lincolnville.

Evelyn Forsberg, Bernice Rickenbrode of Hope, Mike and Jane Rickenbrode, Wade and Morgan of Council Grove were Sunday afternoon and supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Rickenbrode at Hope.

Many of the community either helped or attended the fried chicken supper Wednesday night at Hebron Lutheran Church fellowship hall.

Whitney Gutsch of Herington spent Saturday afternoon with her grandmother, Darlene Gutsch. They had lunch at Herington, went to the McCrea sale, and took a tour of Burdick to see the scarecrows. Perry Gutsch picked Whitney up Saturday evening.
