Burdick: Petersons visit family in Florida

Burdette and Maureen Peterson and Mary Deane Peterson flew to Jacksonville, Fla., June 12 to visit Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Burns of St. Augustine, Fla., and John and Pam Burns and Rebecca of Jacksonville, Fla. John is Mary Deane's nephew, son of Virgil Burns. They returned Friday evening to Kansas City and spent the night with Mitchell and Wanda Peterson and family at Kansas City. They returned Saturday afternoon to Burdick.

Charles Gutsch attended a meeting June 12 of the Morris County Senior Citizens Inc., at Council Grove.

Sabrina Dunkin and Logan and Ethan Forsberg were Monday afternoon visitors of Evelyn Forsberg.

Burdick Senior Citizens met June 17 at the Legion hall. Five members were present. They spent the afternoon preparing used cards for craft use. There will not be a meeting in July. Check the Burdick news and senior citizen news for the Aug. 18 and Sept. 15 meetings.

Mike and Linda Carlson were Saturday evening guests of Charles and Arlene Carlson to celebrate Father's Day.

Jake and Kellie Tindle, Hannah and Cooper of Hutchinson were Saturday afternoon guests of Neva Peterson.

Dean Forsberg was a Tuesday morning coffee guest of Evelyn Forsberg.

Larry Peterson and Neva Peterson visited Paul Anderson Thursday afternoon at Council Grove.

Bret and Lisa Beye, Samantha and Chelsea hosted a birthday supper June 11 for Elizabeth and Cuyler at their home in Herington. Other guests were Bill and Judy Peterson of Herington, Josie Peterson of Lincolnville, Ron and Jenny Schrader, Shea and Hunter of Wichita, Burdette and Maureen Peterson, Oliver Peaterson, Roger Peterson, Rolland Peterson, and Mary Deane Peterson.

Jessica Deines and Carly Deines of Ramona were Friday afternoon visitors of Charles and Darlene Gutsch.

Logan Dunkin spent Wednesday afternoon with Evelyn Forsberg.

Charles and Arlene Carlson attended a dinner Sunday noon in honor of Father's Day at the home of Lauren and Orvelle Brunner. Other guests were Bernie and Ann Koch, Emily Schlickau of Wichita, Jill Brunner and Tucker of Manhattan, Nolan and Melissa Brunner and Leah of Herington, Kent and Jean Brunner, and Mark Brunner and Brian.

Charles and Darlene Gutsch accompanied Carol Miller of Delavan to a meeting Monday evening of the White City #421 Chapter of OES. A sandwich and salad supper at the Teddy Wilde American Legion building preceded the meeting. Fourteen members of Esther Chapter #96, Herington, were honored with a welcome ceremony into their chapter. They were presented with a lighthouse in remembrance of the evening. Jeanne Beck of Manhattan, past grand matron, was in charge of the final consolidation. Refreshments were served to 40-45 guests and members at the end of the meeting.

Rick Schroer and Donna Schroer of Wichita came Tuesday and picked up Ruth Riggin and Lois Peterson. They all went to Valley Vista at Wamego to visit Gary Zinn.

Evelyn Forsberg visited Harry Schump Saturday afternoon and evening at Herington.

Gary and Marilyn Hageberg went to Topeka Sunday to spend Fathers Day with Theresa Hageberg and Phillip.

Mary Deane Peterson accompanied Bill and Judy Peterson of Herington to Wichita Sunday for a Father's Day dinner with Dave and Sara Denly, Ben and Abbey of Winfield.

Charles Gutsch attended the Kohlman family reunion Sunday afternoon at the Marion County Lake hall. Charles' grandmother, Ottillie M. Gutsch, was a Kohlman. He also visited Juanita Helmer at Marion Assisted Living.

Kathy Beneke-Bloom, lay minister of Lincolnville, brought the message Sunday at Burdick United Methodist Church. Her sermon was about seeds and harvest. Corky Bloom presented special music at the close of the service. We commend these people for sharing their talents with us. Remember to keep Shirley Miller, Donna Beneke of Lincolnville, and Deanna Meyers of Syracuse in your prayers this week.

Harry Schump of Herington was a Sunday dinner guest of Evelyn Forsberg.
