Card shower asked for George Meyers' 60th anniversary years ago
George A. and Anna Millicent Meyer will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary June 24.
The couple was married June 24, 1947, at St. John Lutheran Church, Pittsburg. They have lived in Ellinwood since their marriage.
George is retired from Isern Drilling Co. and Millicent is a retired teacher from Ellinwood grade school. George still raises wheat on the family farm in Marion County, where he was known for raising nationally-acclaimed registered Hereford cattle.
A private family dinner will be attended by their children, Madeline and Frank Gabriel, Studio City, Calif., Elaine and Peter Spronken, Tucson, Ariz., Natalie and Kenny Windholz, Gorham, and Edward and Barbara Meyer and Richard and Nikki Meyer, Wichita. They also have 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
