Carl Calam

Carl R. Calam, 69, of Hillsboro, died June 20, 2005.

Born Nov. 15, 1935, at Hillsboro, he was the son of William and Anna (Goertz) Calam.

He was an independent oil and gas producer and member of First Mennonite Church.

On Sept. 6, 1959, he married LaVonne Jost at Cherokee, Okla.

Survivors include his wife, LaVonne of Hillsboro; son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Joni Calam of Hillsboro; two daughters, Carla and son-in-law Nate Faul of Waco, Texas, and Tracey Calam of Andover; sister, Marian Dixon of Delano, Calif.; and six grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. today (Wednesday) at First Mennonite Church, Hillsboro, with Pastor Keith Harder officiating.

Burial will be at 2 p.m. in Haven of Rest Cemetery.

A memorial fund has been established for flag lighting at Memorial Park, Hillsboro.
