Carlson, Tharp plan July wedding
The engagement and approaching marriage of Carla Dyan Carlson and David William Tharp, is announced this week by their parents, Greg and Linda Carlson and Blair and Nancy Tharp, all of Marion.
Carla is the granddaughter of Gary and Shirley Carlson of Marion and Bill and Edna Robinson of Florence. David is the grandson of Dalene Tharp and Earl and Louise Wood, all of Marion.
The bride-to-be is a graduate of Marion High School and attends Emporia State University, majoring in elementary education. She will student teach at El Dorado in the fall and currently is employed at Carlsons' Grocery.
Her fiancé is a graduate of Marion High School and Manhattan Area Vocational-Technical Institute. He is a rancher.
The couple plans to be married July 15 at Eastmoor United Methodist Church, Marion.
