Cecelia Allen
Cecelia Irene Allen, 64, Newton, died Dec. 24, 2007, at Via Christi Medical Center-St. Francis Campus, Wichita.
Born Jan. 13, 1943, at Marion, she was the daughter of Delmer and Earline (Kelsey) Allen.
Cecelia was born with Down Syndrome and the family moved to Wichita where she was able to attend Starkey Developmental School.
When her father retired, the family moved back to Marion and Cecelia enjoyed walking her dog, Rex, bowling, and playing games.
For a number of years, she worked at the Stone City Café, assisting in the kitchen and busing tables.
When her parents died, she moved to Newton.
Survivors include her sister, Robin Long of Rose Hill, and numerous aunts, uncles, and other family members.
Funeral services were Dec. 31, 2007, at Marion Christian Church. Burial was in Marion Cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice.
