Centre FFA heading to Oklahoma

In an area land judging competition Oct. 3 at Centre High School, four members from the Centre FFA chapter qualified for the national land judging competition to be held in Oklahoma.

Individually, the four placed as follows: Julie Rziha first, Aaron Bowman fourth, Kristine Jirak fifth, and Ethan Forsberg seventh.

More than 100 students from 10 schools participated.

On Sept. 29, three Centre members competed at the district contest in Newton. Their team finished third. Individually, Andy Carlson was third and Rziha ninth. Jirak was the other member of the team.

Nursery/Landscape

A Nursery/Landscape competition was held Oct. 3 in conjunction with the land judging.

The A team — Adam Kristek, James Weber, Konley Harding, and Jared Diepenbrock — finished fourth.

The B team — Savik Howard, Shelby Deines, Cassie Spohn, and Heath Hill — finished first in their division.

Nathan Barney, Stephen Kaiser, and Alex Hajek also competed.
