Centre girls ace Flinthills triangular

Centre High School volleyball team improved its record to 7-8 Sept. 18 by defeating Flint Hills and White City in a triangular played in Manhattan.
They defeated Flint Hills in two games, 25-9 and 25-20. They were 44-of-49 from the serving line and 17-of-24 in setting.
Kylie Burhoop served for eight points including three aces. Leann Pankratz completed 10-of-12 spike attempts including eight kills.
The Lady Cougars defeated White City in two games, 25-23 and 25-22. They were 45-of-49 in serving and 38-of-54 in setting.
Pankratz served for 11 straight points in the first game and Amy Hajek served for nine in the second.
Pankratz led at the net, completing 15-of-17 spike attempts, seven for a kill.
Coach Yvonne Burhoop was happy for the wins but wasn't satisfied with how the girls played.
"We got a good lead against White City, then started cruising," she said. "We don't keep pushing, and it hurts your momentum. In this game, momentum is everything.
"But we're almost 500 now, and that is good."
