Centre girls start Ike tourney with win

Teams in the Dwight D. Eisenhower League are participating this week in the league tournament.

CHS girls, seeded second with a record of 7-2, played Elyria Christian (2-6) Monday on their home court and defeated Elyria, 63-19, placing them in the winners' bracket.

Semifinal and final games will be played at Solomon.

The girls will play three-seeded Wakefield (4-4) at 7 p.m. Friday. If they win, they will play for the championship at 5:30 p.m. Saturday. If they lose, they will play for third place at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

CHS boys, seeded fifth with a record of 3-6, faced Flint Hills Christian (4-6) Tuesday at Hope. Results were not known at press time. If they won, they will play Hope at 5:30 p.m. Friday. If they lost, they will play at 4 p.m. Friday.

The championship game is at 7 p.m. Saturday and third-place game at 4 p.m. Saturday.

On the losers' side of the bracket, the fifth-place game will be played at 4:30 p.m. Saturday and seventh-place game at 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
