Centre High School competes in district leadership school

Centre FFA par-law teams made a clean sweep Nov. 10 at the South Central District Leadership School at Moundridge.

The Greenhands finished first with team members Brandon Albrecht, Nathan Barney, Nick Cole, Kacey Hanschu, Konley Harding, and James Weber.

The Greenhand ritual team consisting of Albrecht, Canh Antoszyk, Cole, Hanschu, Ben Krause, and Weber placed fifth.

The senior par-law team, consisting of Gloria Belton, Steven Hageberg, Kristine Jirak, Jackie Klenda, Tad Remy, and Julie Rziha placed first and will advance to state competition in June.

The senior ritual team consisted of Klenda, Belton, Jirak, Rziha, Nellie Hill, and Allie Will finished fifth out of 15 teams.

The team of Belton, Hill, Jirak, Klenda, Rziha, and Jo Terwilliger placed second on the leadership information test.

Individually Jirak placed first, Klenda was second, and Rziha was ninth.

Belton was named master ritual vice president and Antoszyk, master ritual Greenhand secretary.

The senior team combined scores from par-law, ritual, and the information test to win first overall.

In the creed speaking competition, Harding placed fifth and Barney placed seventh.
