Charles Gutsch

Charles W. Gutsch, 77, of Burdick, died June 10, 2007, at Via Christi-St. Francis Medical Center, Wichita.

Born May 12, 1930, at Lincolnville, he was the son of Carl and Dorotha (Peddycord) Gutsch.

He graduated from Marion High School in 1948, and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He was a farmer and member of Burdick United Methodist Church.

On June 13, 1954, he married Darlene Richmond at Marion.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert.

Survivors include his wife, Darlene of Burdick; daughter and son-in-law, Gayla and Jeff Deines of Ramona; son and daughter-in-law, Perry and Amy Gutsch of Herington; brother, John Gutsch of Lincolnville; two sisters, Juanita Helmer of Marion and Linda Gottstein of McPherson; and five grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Burdick United Methodist Church with the Rev. Rick Branson officiating.

Burial was in Lincolnville Cemetery with military honors by a special funeral detail from Fort Riley.

Memorial funds have been established with the church or with Herington Senior Citizen Center.
