Charles O. Halls

Charles O. Halls, 86, of Livingston, Mont., died July 22, 2006.

Born Nov. 13, 1919, at Pepin, Wis., he was the son of Victor and Helen (Winter) Halls.

He attended schools in the Ellsworth area and enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1939.

In 1944, he married Navy Pharmacist's Mate Roberta Huish at Farragut, Idaho. She died in 1989.

In 1959, after serving 20 years in the Navy, he began work at Hardin, Mont., as a hospital administrator with the Lutheran Hospitals and Homes Society.

He also served as administrator at hospitals in Gregory, S.D., Marion, Riverton, Wyo., and Phillip, S.D.

After retiring a second time, he lived in Casper, Wyo., and Bozeman, Mont.

He married Ruth Nickelson-Williams and they spent many years traveling.

Survivors include his wife; two children, Clifford and Sandy Halls of Alamogordo, N.M., and Victor and Connie Halls of Sabetha; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

Graveside committal and burial will be held Sept. 7 at Hardin, Mont.
