Chester Unruh

Dairy farmer Chester O. Unruh, 84, died Oct. 8, 2004, at Hillsboro.

Born Feb. 3, 1920, at Hillsboro, he was the son of Harrison and Anna (Schroeder) Unruh.

On March 20, 1942, he married Bernice Bartel at Hillsboro.

He was a member of Trinity Mennonite Church.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Onietta Loewer in 2004, and a brother, Allen Unruh.

Survivors include his wife, Bernice of Hillsboro; a son-in-law, Paul Loewer of Branch, La.; daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Warren Winter of rural Hillsboro; two sisters, Dorothy Schmidt of North Newton and Eunice Esau of Hutchinson; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at Trinity Mennonite Church, Hillsboro, with Pastor Tim Kliewer officiating.

Burial in Johannestal Cemetery, rural Hillsboro, preceded the funeral service.

Memorial funds have been established with Mennonite Central Committee or Trinity Mennonite Church.
