Christmas home tours will be Nov. 27 years ago
"Once Upon A Christmastime" is this year's theme for Marion's Christmas Home Tours from 1 to 5 p.m., Nov. 27.
Sponsored by Marion City Library, homes on the tour are Craig and Diana Dodd, 115 N. Elm; Scott and Laurie Miesse, 2251 U.S.-56; Rodney and Diane Richmond, 515 S. Lincoln; and Brice and Valerie Goebel, 706 E. Lawrence.
Refreshments will be served at the library. Tours of the library also will be available.
Tickets are $5 each and available at the library or at the homes the day of the tours.
A gift basket of items donated by local businesses will be given away.

Maggard receives postal promotion
Janis Maggard of Marion, recently was appointed postmaster at Walton.
Maggard began her career in March 1985, as a rural carrier associate in Marion. She transferred in June 2000, to the Peabody post office as a sales, service/distribution clerk and remained in that position until her promotion.
Maggard succeeds Teresa Gates who was selected in May 2005, as postmaster at Goessel.
Commodities distributed Thursday
Marion Senior Center will distribute USDA commodities from 12:30 to 4 p.m. Thursday.
Commodities consisting of beef stew, peanut butter, canned potatoes, instant potatoes, vanilla pudding cups, ultra high temp two percent milk, cranberry juice concentrate, applesauce, and walnuts are available to persons who are income eligible.
