CHS girls place second at league meet

The Centre High School girls' track team finished in second place Friday at the 1A Eisenhower League tournament at Abilene.

Hanna Kemble, Kylie Burhoop, and Josie Peterson led the way with first-place finishes.

Kemble won the shot put with a throw of 33 feet, five inches, Burhoop scaled the bar at 4-4 to win high jump, and Peterson produced the top javelin throw at 88-2.

Other high placements included Peterson in discus and Sammi Seifert in high jump.

A 4x100 relay team of Seifert, Carlye Simons, Peterson, and Burhoop finished in second place.

Boys' team

Trevor Troutt was the leading point-man on the boys' team. He placed second in shot put with a throw of 39 feet, 10 1/2 inches.

The team finished in fifth place.

Complete statistics for the top six in each event are published elsewhere.

The regional track meet is Friday at Madison.
