CHS video class composes DVD, designs web site for competition

A web design/video class is taught at Centre High School by computer technician Russ Hake.

Class members Nikki Stenzel, Jackie Klenda, and Gloria Belton designed a DVD about Centre High School as a class project which was entered into competition at Manhattan.

Klenda hosted the video, which reflected the following: 1) interaction between students and teachers and among students; 2) school activities; 3) school organizations such as music, FBLA, FFA, and student council; and 4) technical innovations such as the TEEN network, whiteboards, and laptop computers.

Although the video didn't place, Hake said it scored well.

The video was shown to the board of education at its May 8 meeting.

In coordination with instructor Gaea Wimmer, the class also developed a website for the Centre FFA chapter.

It contains a myriad of information about the chapter including its officers, members, committees, career development events, activities, scholarships, and ag department course descriptions.

Each page displays many colorful pictures and collages. Instructors Wimmer and Cary Granzow are featured on individual pages.

Highlights from the May 9 chapter banquet are available at the site.
