CHS winter homecoming is Friday night

It's spirit week at Centre High School. Activities will culminate Friday in the crowning of a homecoming king and queen prior to the boys' varsity basketball game against St. Xavier. The coronation ceremony will begin at 6 p.m.

King candidates are: Justin Garrard, son of John and Sandra Garrard, rural Lincolnville; Trent Hajek, son of Ron and Leona Hajek, rural Lost Springs; and Ryan Markley, son of Dawn Chizek, Lincolnville, and Mike Markley, Council Grove.

Queen candidates are Brianne Stahlecker, daughter of Alan and Sheri Stahlecker, Lincolnville; Dana Beltz, daughter of Mike and Linda Beltz, Ramona; and Jenny Werth, daughter of Kathy Werth, Lost Springs.

Little helpers are: Natasha Love, daughter of Dan and Paula Love, Lincolnville; Kaitlynn Marler, daughter of Karen Marler and Kacey Nickel, Tampa, and Kevin Marler, Marion; Joshua Mercer, son of Chester and Shelia Mercer, Ramona; Cole Methvin, son of Brent and Briana Methvin, Lincolnville; Gregory Oborny, son of David and Sandra Oborny, Marion;

Shelby Pankratz, daughter of Sherri Pankratz, Lincolnville; Daniel and Haley Rudolph, children of David Rudolph, Lincolnville; Amanda Salamone, daughter of Stephen and Susan Salamone, Tampa; James Spohn, son of Daniel Spohn, Tampa; and Miranda Steiner, daughter of Kristina Thornhill and Terry Steiner, Marion.

Theme for the evening is "Bless the Broken Road," by Rascal Flats. Decorations will be in pink, silver, and black.

There will be no girls' game. A dance will follow the boys' game and will continue until midnight. Steve Seifert of Lost Springs and his Hiway 77 band will provide the music.
