City requests help from residents

Marion residents are asked to assist city crews with future emergencies.

House address numbers need to be displayed on houses in a prominent place to enable crews to locate homes in need of assistance.

Most addresses are painted on curbs in front of the house but with snow and ice covering the curb, it makes it difficult for city employees to locate specific addresses unless displayed on houses.

When power is restored following an outage, residents are asked to turn on a porch light. This will alert city crews that there is electricity at that residence. No porch light would inform crews there is no electricity and would save having to make contact with every household.
