CJHS falls to 2-2

In a spirited contest Thursday at Hope, Centre Junior High football team was defeated, 22-8. It was their second loss of the season. They have won two games.

The junior Cougars put up a good fight, their only points coming in the first quarter. James Weber scored a touchdown on a 22-yard run. A pass to Weber from Ben Krause provided the two-point conversion.

Hope also scored one touchdown and extra points in the first quarter, tying the score at 8-8. The Lions added another touchdown in the second quarter and eight more points in the fourth to claim a 14-point victory.

CJHS carried the ball 18 times for 45 yards. Weber was leading rusher with five carries and 25 yards. Krause had seven carries for eight yards, and Josh Olsen had six for 12.

Krause threw four completed passes for a gain of 16 yards. Receivers included Konley Harding, two catches for six yards, James Weber, one for two, and Josh Olsen, one for eight.
